This is a seven-hour class that runs approximately 9am – 4pm. It presents the handgun as a primary home and self-defense tool. It is conducted in the classroom and on the live-fire range. The class is suitable for ages 16 and above. The USCCA Handbook and Certificate will be issued.
The class begins with home and personal defense planning. We cover handgun safety, and the basics of effective grip, stance, and presentation. Using a SIRT laser training pistol, we practice techniques for fast effective aiming at close distances and integrate this with core safe gun handling skills. We will consider choice of defensive ammunition and discuss general rules governing use of defensive force.
On the range, we will shoot at different distances and consider faster fire as distance decreases. Single-handed shooting will also be achieved. When we return to the classroom, we will discuss our performance and steps for future skill building.
The maximum class size is ten, and class time may be extended slightly depending on number of participants and discussion. Florida/Arizona Non-Resident Carry Permit Class
New Jersey residents can apply for the non-resident Permits to Carry from a number of States. By combining those from Arizona and Florida, NJ residents can legally carry a concealed defensive firearm in (currently) 32 States. This course is designed to make it straightforward to apply for the out-of-state concealed carry permits from Florida and Arizona.
We go over everything required to successfully complete your applications, including a walk through of the applications, and fingerprinting. We then discuss the need to be aware of local laws and continue with a consideration of your personal defense plan, focusing on outside the home.
On the firing range, we shoot double and single-handed, with a focus on safe gun handling at all times. We introduce single-handed firing, with either hand. The class will conclude with a review and question/answer session, with suggestions for future skill development.
You should bring two photographs for the Florida application, and a valid NJ Driver’s License. You should also bring note-taking material, and lunch. If you have a defensive firearm, you should bring it too; a holster is suggested. Bring 100 rounds of store-bought, factory-loaded ammunition. If you do not have a defensive firearm, we can provide one and appropriate ammunition. Most importantly, you should bring a positive safety-orientated attitude.
We provide all training materials, classroom and firing range facilities, and coffee and snacks. You will take away complete application packages for these two popular CCW permits, a great experience, and the most important considerations surrounding a decision to carry a defensive firearm on your person. Where appropriate, certification of safe gun handling during live fire will be issued.
Clients are reminded that reciprocity agreements are dynamic and should be confirmed. Neither of the above permits allows the holder to carry a concealed firearm outside their home in New Jersey.
The cost is $180 which includes all course materials, classroom and range fees except ammunition, which must be purchased separately.
USCCA EMERGENCY FIRST AID
The course is conducted in the classroom. It is designed to enable motivated individuals to efficiently offer relevant First Aid until emergency personnel arrive. The class addresses four key elements of emergency first aid: Patient Assessment, Traumatic Emergencies, Medical Emergencies, and Emergency First Aid Kits.
Participants learn the importance of an initial assessment of the patient and situation, and identifying major threats to life, such as: head or spinal injuries, impaired breathing, major bleeding, and secondary assessments. Common severe traumatic injuries such as arterial bleeding, chest wounds, deep or widespread cuts, breaks to the pelvis or upper leg, and severe burns are considered. Medical emergencies such as heart attack, anaphylaxis, hypothermia and heat-stroke, are also discussed, as is building emergency first-aid kits of varying degrees of complexity. Practical exercises such as how to apply a tourniquet, splint a fracture, and pack a wound, are included.
This is a beginner-level course, designed specifically for people who wish to gain insight to immediate first-aid. You should bring note-taking material lunch. Most importantly, you should bring a positive, safety-orientated attitude, and a willingness to learn about what you can do to help someone in an emergency.
This class is OSHA compliant Title 29 – 29 CFR 1910.151(b). It DOES NOT provide you with a CPR nor First Aid certification and you will be awarded a certificate of completion of the class. This is a basic home/lay provider class.
We provide all training materials, the detailed USCCA “Emergency First-Aid Fundamentals” manual, classroom and practical exercise materials. Light refreshments are included. You will take away a great experience, and a clear understanding of what you can do to help save a life. You’ll understand how to begin developing those skills, too. A USCCA certificate of completion is issued.
The cost is $170 which includes all course materials and classroom First Aid kits will be offered for sale for $75 and we do not have the ability to process credit cards in class
USCCA Women’s Defensive Handgun
The USCCA Women’s Handgun class was written by women to address the specific questions that women may have regarding handgun ownership and use. It is a women-only class that is led by an experienced team that includes women instructors, some with law-enforcement experience. The class is suitable for women ages 14 and above.
This is a seven-hour class that includes classroom work and live-fire on the range. The class begins with a discussion of why we own handguns and how everyones’ needs are different, including why women’s needs are often different from men’s. We then discuss various aspects of safe gun handling, including the four core safety rules and discuss types of handguns. Next, we show how to hold and present the gun to target, as well as loading, unloading, and aiming. This is all practiced in class before going onto the range. When we return to the class, we will discuss your targets and situational awareness that will aid you in not having to use your gun. We’ll conclude with suggestions for skill-building. The USCCA Handbook and certificate will be issued.
While it is preferable that you bring your own handgun, some firearms will be available for examination and you will be able to use one on the range if necessary. Please bring one box of store-bought, factory-loaded ammunition, to match your handgun. If you need to use one of our handguns, you will be directed as to which caliber of ammunition to purchase.

NRA Range Safety Officer
This is an 8+ hour class that runs from 9.00am to at least 5.00pm. NRA Range Safety Officer provides a clear foundation on running a firing range, including safety, organizational and inspection aspects. The class is suitable for shooters of at least 21 years old, who have a broad familiarity with pistols, rifles and shotguns.
The class runs in the classroom and does not require live-fire. It covers the role and responsibility of the RSO, and the importance of Standard Operating Procedures, the structure and layout of a firing range, and range limits, conducting a range inspection and describing range rules. The course concludes with a description of procedures for dealing with range-related emergencies, and how to properly control shooters on the range and at the firing line.

USCCA Defending Your Home
This is an eight-hour class that runs 9am – 5pm. It discusses the use of force in defense of your home and the people who are present there. A New Jersey attorney will discuss the various NJ laws covering the use of force to defend yourself, family members, and guests, as well as pets and property. The USCCA handbook and Certificate will be issued.
We will discuss the definition of ‘home defense’ and the use of force as one aspect of this. We will discuss the role of defensive tools such as firearms, tasers, pepper spray and so on in home defense. And we will also discuss how to call the police effectively.
Shooting from behind cover and concealment in your home will be an integral part of this class. We will undertake practical exercises using laser training ‘SIRT’ pistols to present and practice this.
The class will conclude with an open forum, sharing thoughts, questions and ideas for further training.

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting
Probably the most widely recognized Pistol Training on the planet!!
This is an eight-hour class that runs from 9.00am to 5pm. It is designed to give you familiarity with the Knowledge, Skills and Attitude for safe and effective basic pistol use. The class is suitable for beginner pistol shooters age 14 and older, as well as those more experienced. It fulfills the necessary student class prerequisite for those wishing to become NRA Certified Pistol Instructors.
It typically covers the single-action revolver, the modern revolver and the semi-automatic handgun.
The class runs in the classroom and on the live-fire range. It covers parts and function of a pistol, parts and function of pistol ammunition, fundamentals of pistol shooting, and shooting from the bench-rest and standing positions. When we return from the range we will discuss your targets and talk about cleaning and maintaining your pistol and opportunities for further skill development.
While it is highly preferable that you bring your own pistol, a range of firearms will be available for examination and you will be able to use one on the range if necessary. Please bring one box of store-bought, factory-loaded ammunition, to match your pistol. If you do not have a pistol of your own, please let us know and we will tell you what kind of ammunition to purchase or make arrangements. NRA Basic Rifle Training
Probably the most widely-recognized Rifle training anywhere in the World!!
This is an eight-hour class that runs from 9.00am to 5pm. It is designed to give you familiarity with the Knowledge, Skills and Attitude for safe and effective basic rifle use. The class is suitable for beginner rifle shooters age 14 and older, as well as those more experienced. It is a necessary pre-requisite for those wishing to become NRA Certified Rifle Instructors.
The class runs in the classroom and on the live-fire range. It covers parts and function of a rifle, parts and function of rifle ammunition, fundamentals of rifle shooting, and shooting from the bench-rest and positions. When we return from the range we will discuss your targets and talk about cleaning and maintaining your rifle and opportunities for further skill development.
While it is highly preferable that you bring your own rifle, a range of firearms will be available for examination and you will be able to use one on the range if necessary. Please bring one box of store-bought, factory-loaded ammunition, to match your rifle. If you do not have a rifle please contact us in regards to the caliber of ammunition you should purchase. Intro to Disaster Preparedness
This class is offered in 4 hour and 8 hour versions. Beginning with basic awareness techniques of impending disaster, both natural and man-made, we will explore a variety of preparations that can be made for both the home environment and occasions when you may be away from home and a large-scale incident occurs. Basic food and water storage, farming techniques, food preservation will be covered as well as the construction of bug-out bags, get-home bags and other items which are invaluable to our safety and comfort should our homes and wellbeing be threatened. Basic First Aid will also be offered in the 8 hour class.
